Hi, I'm Roger
Behind SysOpsLink is me. My path to systems administration hasn't been conventional, and I consider that to be one of my greatest competitive advantages. For years, I worked professionally in the mountains as a guide and ski instructor—an environment where strict planning, risk management, and decision-making under pressure are vital. After working in the commercial sector coordinating departments, I decided to channel my experience and lifelong passion for IT into formal Systems and Networks training at the UOC.
Currently, I combine running SysOpsLink with active roles as a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer for the corporate sector. In my day-to-day enterprise environment, I don't just design the theoretical architecture of critical systems; I roll up my sleeves for their actual implementation: configuring perimeter firewalls, deploying complex VPN networks to interconnect branch offices, and managing massive virtualization setups. This direct hands-on experience with production Cloud platforms allows me to bring enterprise-level standards to projects of any scale, ensuring that every solution is robust and secure.
My primary technical obsession is order and organization. I don't believe in makeshift, temporary workarounds. I plan down to the smallest detail to implement once and prevent future issues. If a complete staging sandbox needs to be spun up to refine a process before going live, it gets done. Furthermore, everything is meticulously documented—an essential guarantee both for mitigating failures and for your peace of mind.
I come actively from the Home Lab environment and the self-hosted culture. In my own lab, I manage virtualization architectures with Proxmox, deploy containerized microservices via Docker (n8n, BookStack, Chatwoot), and design VLAN-segmented networks to strictly isolate storage, servers, and everyday devices.
I am committed to a 100% remote model—synchronous in execution but asynchronous in communication. No endless meetings interrupting your workflow or unexpected calls: we work by objectives, with pristine written logs and native multilingual support (ES, CAT, EN, FR). This allows me to provide a flexible global reach, delivering high-availability solutions where there is no local IT team or where IT overhead is prohibitive.
